The antenna iPhone 4 better than the iPhone 3G

Anandtech has done a series of tests on the quality of the antenna cross iPhone 4 and iPhone 3G, in the light of problems and disputes arising in those days. The study therefore seeks to clarify and put an end to mere "speculation."

We must say that by testing the iPhone antenna 4 was better than the one mounted on the iPhone 3G, but with some clarification to do.

The first test was based on signal quality depending on the power of the same, although the same Andandtech points out that not always the number of "notches" corresponds to the actual signal quality.

The second test concerns the quality of signal based on the location in which the iPhone 4 is held :

As you can see on all terminals signal quality varies according to location, although on the iPhone 4 this difference is accentuated.

But Anandtech also noted that the quality of the antenna on the iPhone 3G is better than 4, especially when the signal is low (below -133), as the call on the new iPhone is much better:

It 'amazing to note the huge difference in signal sensitivity between iPhone 4 and iPhone 3G as the antenna has been improved.

I have no doubt that the reception on the iPhone 4 is better than the other iPhone, even if the "notches" are inferior to 3G.

Eventually AnandTech states that Uses Bumper signal loss is attenuated, and is equated to that of other smartphones.

In practice, although on the iPhone 4 "notches" are less than the 3G, the call quality is superior.
