iPhone 4G Won’t Have Flash Support, Adobe Says We’re Fine Without Apple
Do you like this story?
Apple effectively gave Adobe a kick in the teeth when they announced that their new developer’s agreement will prevent Adobe from porting over apps created using Flash to Apple’s iPhone and iPad operating systems. This comes after Adobe released its Creative Suite 5 software suite with support for making and packaging apps for iPhone and iPad. Adobe today officially responded to Apple effectively saying they didn’t care if Apple didn’t approve it.
Adobe says that the ability to package an application for the iPhone or iPad is just one feature in its CS5 software suite which contain hundreds of new capabilities and “a ton of innovation”. They will still include the capability in CS5 regardless of whether Apple chooses to approve or reject it as their rules change over time.
With this move, Apple has also cut off other similar technologies such as Unity and Titanium. We will have to wait and see to know how the developers themselves respond to this move.
