old and new iPhone 3G and iPod Touch iBoot 3G, older firmware (3.1.3,3.1.2 ...) are no longer signed by Apple or by Saurik for restoration with these models.
Jailbroken and non-jailbroken, you should save your file shsh signed for iOS 4 corresponds to your ECID you're 4 or under iOS old firmware.
This will help in the future update of the iOS as iOS 4.0.1, can restore this former iOS 4.
For information about availability of this new iOS 4.0.1, it will be impossible to restore an earlier version of firmware as 4.0, 3.1.3 if you have signed for your shsh 4.0,3.1.3 or 3.1.2.
You can save this file by different means shsh: through Cydia (Make My Life Easier) or this version of TinyUmbrella 4.00.80 (local server to restore the firmware)
For these models, when you restore a firmware, iTunes server sends a request to Apple, to see if that is indeed the latest firmware underway to restore it, thus preventing you from restoring any old firmware.Only iOS 4.0.1 is currently signed to your shsh match your ECID.
Required :
- IPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3G.
- iOS 4.01, 4.0, 3.1.3, 3.1.2 and 3.0
- No need to be jailbroken to save your ECID.
- Umbrella-4.00.80 (Windows) and Umbrella-4.00.80 (Mac).
- Alternate download link on their blog.

- Allow the firewall for Windows!
- This version of TinyUmbrella is able to automatically detect your ECID and thus save your file shsh for the firmware you are currently using. (He can not save the shsh an old firmware if you have not signed before!)
- Save your file for your shsh ECID locally (on your computer) and server Saurik.
- Create a local server, which saves your file shsh (you can also put your old shsh signed for older firmware), so you can restore a previous firmware other than iOS 4.0 when it becomes available in iTunes .
- The local server, works the same way as the method Saurik.
- The local server may optionally be blocked in a future update of iTunes.
- Signed shsh saved in C: / Documents and Settings / /. Shsh (windows) or / Users / /. Shsh (Mac)
