[How to] Jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iOS 4.0.1 [Mac] [Full Guide]


Here's a guide to jailbreak iPhone 3GS models with old iBoot a modified version (unofficial) PwnageTool.
This version of PwnageTool has been achieved by Criminal 90 ToolJail author.



Required:

NB: Jailbreak 3.1.3, install the package Spirit2Pwn available on Cydia, add this repo: http://repo.woowiz.net

Tutorial
  •  Launch PwnageTool (unofficial version amended)
  •  Advanced Mode
  •  Choose iPhone 3GS
  •  The research iOS 4.0.1 on your Mac starts.
  •  If it does not find the ipsw file, shows him the 4.0.1 ipsw download here.

  •  Customize your iOS 4.0.1
  •  Check the box if you do not Activate SIM offcial of the operator of the iPhone.
  •  Create your custom firmware.
  •  When creating custom firmware, your password will be requested and Mac or save custom cutter (to put it on the desktop)

Restoration :
  •  Switching to DFU mode (black screen)
  •  Turn off iPhone.
  •  Press the button (3sec)
  •  Can the ON button and Home (10sec)
  •  Then release the button ON while staying supported with the Home button (20-30sec)
  •  Launch iTunes 9.2
  •  Detection of an iPhone in recovery mode.
  •  Click Restore ALT +
  •  An explorer window opens to indicate the iOS 4.0.1 creates customized with the modified version of PwnageTool
If this does not pass, get Recovry mode (Home + ON - USB cable and iTunes). In all cases we must already be jailbroken in order to restore this custom iOS 4.0.1 jailbroken.
If your phone Jailbroken successfully you can now unlock it with Ultrasn0w
