Updated beta 4. No longer requires the installation and launch separate usbmuxd and fix the crach in the step "Preparing Monte JB Files".

The Dev Team just release a new version of redsn0w this morning to spend a jailbreak tethered to an untethered jailbreak .

This is a beta release and more stable than the older versions, the process is fully optimized and functional. But only concern el bluetooth and application Skypee still instabale.

All iDevices can jailbreak under iOS 4.2.1 with the Redsn0wn software by following this guide, but some models have some constraints upon the termination or restart the iDevice.

You Needs to have saved SHSH signed for a firmware iOS 4.2b3 at the time. follow this guide to jailbreak untethered.

The jailbreak untethred: your iDevice will remain jailbroken with normal use after a reboot of your device.

The jailbreak or semi-tethered tethered: iDevice will be blocked from your cable or iTunes image of an apple (no access to the springboard) or use very unstable (half-tethered)

Models for 3G iPhone, 3G (former iBoot) and iPod Touch 2G not MC, is already jailbreak your untethered by following this guide.

If you need unlocked via Ultrasn0w Walk away from this guide.

Consider making a backup of your iDevice via iTunes.

If you've jailbroken 4.2.1 under iOS, no need to restore your IOS.

Preamble

•  iPhone , iPod Touch 4 and under iOS iPad 4.2.1
•  Does not affect iPhone 3G (new iBoot) and 2G iPod Touch (TM) 3G yet.
•  Needs to have saved SHSH signed for a firmware iOS 4.2b3 at the time.
•  Mac users only.
•  ITunes 10.1.
•  IOS 4.2.1
•  IOS 4.2b3.
•  Redsn0w 0.9.7b4

It is no longer possible to sign the file for SHSH iOS 4.2b3.

Make sure your host file has been modified manually or with Tiny Umbrella, 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com line must be valid (no #)

Guide

•  Launch redsn0w 0.9.7b4
•  Windows Vista and Seven, do not forget to meter in compatibility mode XP SP3 and administrator in the properties of the exe.

•  Click "Browse" and indicate the original firmware ipsw iOS 4.2.1 (iPhone3, 1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore)

•  Leave work and then a new dialog.

•  If you restore recement iOS and non jailbroken 4.2.1.
•  Check "Install Cydia" and "Jailbreak Monte 'untethered to a jailbreak.

You are already under iOS 4.2.1 jailbroken tethered.

•  Select "Jailbreak Monte" only.
•  A window will appear to indicate the firmware ipsw iOS 4.2b3. (IPhone3, 1_4.2_8C5115c_Restore)

•  IPhone 4 iOS 4.2b3
•  IPod Touch 4 iOS 4.2b3
•  IPad IOS 4.2b3

•  Then you have to go into DFU mode manually.
•  Your iDevice must be attached via USB to your computer and off.

•  Hold button (above) 3 sec.
•  Hold button (above) and Home (low) 10 sec.
•  Then release the button ON while holding the Home button 15-17 seconds

•  Leave work.

•  Your iDevice should reboot.

•  Your jailbreak is untethered.

Testing the functional relase beta 4 for me!

Known bug beta 1:

•  Attention to switch between open applications from the dock Multitask (SBSettings to stop using applications)
•  Concern for bluetooth.
•  The iPod application crashes on an iPhone.
•  The videos do not read.
•  The YouTube application crash.
•  Airplay does not work.
•  Some applications from the AppStore crash.
•  Many users have had to restore.

Update # 2: The Second Beta Is Now Available (testers ONLY please!). This version should "fix All the native app crashes (Including Task Switcher). That's the only change from beta1 in .... Bluetooth Is Still disabled.

Update # 3: The Third Beta Is Now Available (testers ONLY please!). This version extends The Fix made in beta2 over to the Non-GUI Programs too (That Like the daemons handle media content). That should "cover Things like FaceTime, Winterboard themes, and embedded videos in iTunes. If You Had trouble physician before usbmuxd in previous betas, please wait Until We Incorporate Into That redsn0w Itself (ie Do not Bother Trying this beta3, Just Wait for the integration).

Update # 4: The fourth beta Is Now Available (testers ONLY please!). Starting with this version, redsn0w No Longer Requires you to install and run a program Separate pour la usbmux (This Was a non-trivial procedure for many). It's okay to keep running That program if you use it for ssh Normally anyway. We think we've fixed a aussi Status In The Race That Was Causing redsn0w GUI to crash "during the" Preparing Monte JB Files "step. Nothing at all has changed on the iPhone side (Where the hand exits are "still just Bluetooth and Skype).

If you have a failure with redsn0w to leave your iDevice DFU mode (black screen), hold Home + ON button for about fifteen seconds.
