Apple has just released iTunes 9.1.1 for both Windows and Mac. This is a minor release for stability and bug fixes which addresses issues like problems in “converting songs to 128 kbps AAC while syncing”, “stability issues with VoiceOver ”, and various other bug fixes.

The official change log of version 9.1.1 is as follows:
  • Addresses several stability issues with VoiceOver
  • Addresses a usability issue with VoiceOver and Genius Mixes
  • Addresses issues with converting songs to 128 kbps AAC while syncing
  • Addresses other issues that improve stability and performance
iTunes 9.1 comes with several new features and improvements, including:
  • Sync with iPad to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books and more.
  • Organize and sync books you’ve downloaded from iBooks on iPad or added to your iTunes library
  • Rename, rearrange, or remove Genius Mixer
Note:

Jailbreakers and Unlockers can safely update to iTunes 9.1.1. However some blackra1n users on iPhone 3.1.2 may still require the use of BlackBreeze or “Blackra1n for iTunes 9.1” to fix any syncing issues that they maybe having.

MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has confirmed that Spirit release can be expected very soon, probably as soon as iPad 3G ships this Friday.
Today’s 9.1.1 iTunes is safe for PwnageTool&redsn0w. But those hoping to use userland JBs (like Spirit) should hold off.
.. but Spirit JB by @comex is on the horizon.
So there goes your confirmation. If you want to have the ability to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 and iPad untethered, DO NOT update to iTunes 9.1.1 yet.
