Nokia: Camera Phones will Replace Mirrors and will Record HD Video

As the head of Nokia Anssi Vanjoki told during his speech in Helsinki, camera phones of the company will soon be able to compete with professional cameras. According to him, Nokia will make a revolution in this direction very soon. In fact, Vanjoki announced that Nokia will make even high-quality mirror cameras useless and they will simply be outdated, although it does not sound too likely.

More specifically, the head of Nokia promised to support mobile devices of the company with high-definition video records (720p or 1080p) in the nearest future – within a year. At the moment at least two such models – Samsung i8910 and Sony Ericsson Vivaz are represented in the market. Let us remind that the release of the flagship cameraphone Nokia N8 with 12 megapixel camera and Carl Zeiss optics is expected soon. This model is assumed to be able to record HD video at 720p.
