New LG will better than iPad ?

LG Electronics VP of Marketing Chang Ma has declared that 'our tablet will be better than the iPad.

The LG tablet will launch globally by the fourth quarter under its Optimus line, Ma told the WSJ.

The first LG tablet, which will run on Google Inc.'s Android software, will set itself apart from Apple Inc.'s iPad by focusing on the ability to create content, rather than simply display it, Mr. Ma said in an interview. Mr. Ma said that the iPad is a great device, but he doesn't do much work on it. "Our tablet will be better than the iPad."

That's a pretty bold statement.

Ma also said the tablet will have "high-end features and new benefits," many of which will focus on productivity.

LG Ally Android Phone Coming on May 20th, Possibly on Verizon

LG has just confirmed the Ally Android handset, previously known as the Aloha. Apparently, the device will launch on May 20th, most likely on Verizon, although LG didn’t mention any carrier in its press release. Since we’re still in the whole Iron Man 2 hysteria, the handset will include tons of content related to the movie, in case you’re interested.

What’s really nice is that among the Iron Man content there’s also an augmented reality application of some kind, that sounds like a reason to buy the phone on its own. Till it’s launch time we’ll be seeing a special LG event in New York, on May 11th, where the company will be showing off the Ally and some other Tony Stark-style technology.
LG Ally’s specs include Android 2.1, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2 megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, a 3.2 inch touchscreen display, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth.

LG GW990 MeeGo Phone Gets Cancelled

For all those folks excited with the new MeeGo platform (combo between Maemo and Moblin), we have bad news: one of the first devices that runs it, LG GW990 got canned. This device won’t be commercially available, in spite of being showcased by LG back in January and announced for a H2 2010 release.

This was LG’s first Intel Moorestown-powered phone, but initially it was meant to run Moblin. Now with the whole merger with Maemo, LG put the handset to concept stage again and announced it won’t be releasing it, after all. It’s such a pity, specially considering the incredible specs on the device: 4.8 inch touchscreen display (1024 x 480 pixels), 3D gaming, a 5 megapixel camera and a multi window UI.
Let’s just hope LG doesn’t can all its MeeGo-related plans, too.

Second LG Windows Phone 7 Device Leaked

We’ve just learned of a new leaked image of a fresh Windows Phone 7 handset, the second such phone made by LG. While some sites have taken the image down and the details concerning the device, we can show you the smartphone below and the info in the next lines.

Neowin published the original piece on the second LG WP 7 handset, but we have to mention the possibility of this image being a fake, or a render. As far as we know, this new model sports a sliding keyboard at the bottom and it resembles the Palm Pre, as far as the design is concerned.
The rest of its specs include a 1GHz processor (at least), 8GB of internal memory, a multitouch screen with 800 x 480 pixel resolution and possibly Bluetooth and GPS. Neowin took the pic and details down for now, so we’re guessing it all might be a great big rumour.

LG LU2300 Android Phone Uses a Snapdragon CPU

Only days after announcing that it’ll make a Windows Phone 7 handset, LG also mentioned that it’ll launch an Android phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU. Till now we’ve only seen one LG Android device, the GW620, that wasn’t that impressive.

Known as LG LU2300, the Android Snapdragon handset is supposed to run Android 2.1 and it’ll also pack a WVGA AMOLED touch display, plus a 5 megapixel camera with support for 720p video capture at 30 fps. No info on the release date of this phone, but what we know is that LG LU2300 will debut in South Korea and then reach the rest of the world.
Snapdragon plus Android 2.1 is surely the way to go, as shown by Nexus One, a real hit so far.

The LG mini with a large touchscreen

The LG mini sports clean lines, a large touchscreen display and even a 5MP camera.
While hardly “Mini” LG’s svelte smartphone is one good looking device with a button-less front that may

even get Steve Jobs’ approval. The phone features a 3.2” touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, and GPS. No word on availability on US soil, though with HSDPA compatibility expect it to hit your favorite import retailer soon after its release. LG
