Custom Firmwares for iOS 4.1 Jailbroken for all iDevice

Below are various different custom firmware files that were created using Pwnage Tool 4.1 download these if you are weary of creating your own. Your device MUST be in pwned-DFU mode for these firmware files to restore properly(read below). Make sure you read the description of each firmware CAREFULLY so that you know what you are installing.

*IMPORTANT* In order to restore these custom firmware files, you must use Pwnage Tool(Mac) to enter DFU mode. If you have Windows, you can now use Redsn0w 0.9.6b2 to enter pwned-dfu mode which will allow you to install the custom firmware files. You must use one of these methods in order for the restore to work or you will get iTunes errors.

NOTES :

After you install your pre-jailbroken firmware, DO NOT use a jailbreak tool like limera1n or greenpois0n. The whole point of these custom firmware files is that they come PRE-JAILBROKEN. All you have to do is shift+restore with them and when your device starts up it will already be jailbroken. If you do install one of the jailbreaks you will have to start the whole process over again.
The iPhone 3G firmware files use custom boot and recovery screens, at this time, the iPhone 3G is the ONLY device that supports custom logos. The logos used in these firmware files can be seen below:

iPad 2G Cases !

It's time for iPad 2 rumors, iLounge is reporting that a Chinese manufacturer, is now offering what it claims is a case for the second-generation iPad. The leaked images and informations claims that the device will have rear-facing camera and SD card slot.
The first image comes from Shenzhen MacTop Electronics showing a shell of white case of 2nd-generation iPad and also shows an opening in the top left corner suggests a Facetime camera.

The second one comes from a Japanese site shows similar cases in black and white models, with a hole for the camera in the upper left corner and the same volume / headphone jack layout of the current generation iPad. As MacRumors notes, however, the spot for the volume buttons in these cases looks smaller.

The case also suggest the same hole in the lower right corner we have seen in the first white case image above, and the description page claims the iPad 2 will come with an SD slot. What I can say, the rumors will start to spread everywhere on the web specially that we know that iPad 2G will ship in less than 100 days.

How to get iOSFlashVideo and use it:

STEP 2: Add a bookmark by pressing the + button on the bottom of the Safari web browser then touch on the Add Bookmark button.

STEP 3: Press the Save button on the top right hand corner.

STEP 4: Next, tap on the bookmarks icon at the bottom of the Safari web browser then tap on edit at the bottom left and select iOSFlashVideo.

STEP 5: After you have selected the iOSFlashVideo bookmark, delete everything before the word javascript. Even though the picture below didn't delete the # symbol in front of javascript, please do so. Save it and exit out of the bookmarks on Safari.

Greenpois0n Jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 [Soon]

Few minutes ago p0sixninja the hacker behind Greenpois0n jailbreak has just announced that the new version of Greenpois0n is being updated to be untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 4,3GS iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad, but the untethered task has caused a delay in releasing the new Greenpois0n.

I apologize for the delay in greenpois0n 4.2.1 support. Our current focus is on a permanent untether solution

Till now there is no ETA (estimate to arrival) for the new Greenpois0n. By the way Comex is also developing a new method to make untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 on all devices and it's expected to see the light on Christmas.

STEP 3: Tap cydia_1.0.3366-…phoneos-arm.deb, then “Installer” (The .deb should install rather quickly.)

STEP 4: When the install is done, close iFile and respring your iPhone, enjoy new Cydia.

How to know that you have installed the new Cydia? go to app’s home page and look at the Cydia version number right above your iPhone’s UDID.

• New Cydia version is 1.0.3366-1

iSHSHit Save SHSH Blobs

iSHSHit is a new Cydia utility that allows you to save SHSH blobs directly from your iphone, iPod touch or iPad itself, without the need to use a desktop application such as TinyUmbrella.

This new Cydia tweak is pretty simple to use. Basically, you just make sure that the information you want saved are correct and press save. It should prompt you by downloading the SHSHs. What iSHSHit basically does next is that is opens up to a new mail page sending the attachments to any e-mail account you want.

Technically, once you press save, the SHSH blobs are already saved, but you can also send them via email to another inbox for more permanent keeping, cool, eh?

iSHSHit is a free Cydia tweak and you need a jailbroken device to install this app so you can follow our guide posted here to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 or use Limera1n for iOS 4.1 jailbreak. I really recommend this app to save your SHSH blobs since is convenient, fast, and easy! I'm sure saving SHSH blos won't consume too much time out of your day. All it takes is 3 seconds! Who knows, maybe if your device's firmware corrupts, you can restore to the same firmware and keep your jailbreak. This is a must have for any jailbreaker.

Graviboard Released !

In our last post, we told you that GraviBoard will bring Gravity to your iOS device, and here we go. Ever wanted to let your apps float on your springboard? Now you can with the new release of Graviboard. Graviboard is a Cydia tweak that allows your apps to float in different sets of gravity. The preset ones are Earth, Moon, and Zero Gravity. Graviboard also comes with a custom gravity so you can set the gravity to your liking.

This tweak is for users who are looking for a little bit more fun out of their springboard. To use Graviboard, just go to settings and change the toggles on target="_blank"and off. You can even set a toggle via activator.

Graviboard for now is a pretty simple jailbreak tweak. There aren't that many features yet, but I'm sure it will expand and continue to update for more features. Some of the cons of Graviboard is that you cannot keep the apps with no gravity on when you launch apps. This is also limited because you cannot apply Graviboard to folders and scroll to other pages.

Infinity Blades RPG at App Store on December 9th

The long waited Infinity Blades RPG will hit the app store on December 9th. The game was demonstrated in Apple's keynote before. This action role playing game was developed by Epic Games (also known as ChAIR) graphics has been flawless! The game will sell for 5.99 in the US.

Infinity Blade will also support Game Center and somehow provide live online battles with other people. Although the interface and the programming hasn't been revealed yet, many iOS users are eager to have this app in their iTunes collection.

Epic Games has made it clear in today's announcement that Infinity Blades will be available as a universal app for iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPod touch 3G / 4G. Older iDevices will not be supported. More updates as they come! Stay tuned! [via Pocket Gamer]

Jailbreak 4.2.1 iOS iPhone 4, 3gs, 3g, iPad, iPodTouch with Redsn0w 0.9.6b4 [ How to Guide ]

Few moment ago we broke the news about the release of redsn0w 0.9.6b4 to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad with working Cydia and MobileSubstrate, as we told you earlier that redsn0w 0.9.6b4  is based on GeoHot’s limera1n bootrom exploit.

The bad new is that right now, the redsn0w 0.9.6b4 is a tethered or semi-tethered jailbreak for some devices (i.e. you will lose your jailbreak every time you reboot your iDevice, so you have to follow the following steps every reboot to have a jailbroken device )

Untethered Devices:

• iPhone 3GS (old bootrom)
• iPhone 3
• iPod touch 2G (Non-MC Model)

Tethered Devices:

• iPhone 3GS (new bootrom)
• iPhone 4
• iPad
• iPod touch 2G (MC Model)
• iPod touch 3G

NOTE: Those of you who rely on a carrier unlock stay away from Redsn0w and iOS 4.2.1.

GUIDE:

STEP 1: Download redsn0w 0.9.6b4,  iOS 4.2.1 for your device(download links at the end).

STEP 2: Update to 4.2.1 firmware using the IPSW file you just downloaded via iTunes 10.1.

STEP 3: Launch Redsn0w 0.9.6b4,  and browse for iOS 4.2.1 firmware final version 

STEP 4: Select "Install Cydia" and click on "Next"

STEP 5: Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.

STEP 6: At this stage you will need to put your iPhone in DFU mode by holding “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.

STEP 7: You will Get a Jailbroken Device on the latest iOS 4.2.1  as soon as the process ends.

STEP 8: This step is only for these devices iPhone 4, 3GS (New Bootrom), iPod touch 4G,  3G, 2G, iPad. While this is tethered jailbreak and whenever you want to do anything related to jailbreak like SSH your device, or running Cydia, you must first run your device in the so called “jailbroken state” on every reboot by using “Just boot tethered right now” option.

iPad 3G with an Integrated SIM Card !!

The Telegraph reports that Apple is gearing up to launch a slightly updated iPad WiFi + 3G model which will feature an integrated SIM-card, remotely programmable to any carrier, in contrast to the micro-SIMs currently used. According to “a senior source at a mobile operator”.

Apple has long been trying to build closer and closer relationships and cut out the operators. But this time they have been sent back to the drawing board with their tails between their legs

The reason Apple will do this is because the iPad is not subsidized by mobile carriers. So according to The Sunday Telegraph, Apple plans to launch the integrated-SIM variant of the iPad around the late December and early January. [via 9to5mac]

Jailbreak iPad 4.2.1 iOS with PwnageTool !

Msft guy has just released the PwnageTool bundle for iOS 4.2.1 GM on iPad. The following bundle is available for download with a patch for broken Cydia. In this post, I will show you how to use this bundles to jailbreak your iPad on iOS 4.2.1 GM and install Cydia on it.

STEP 1: Download PwnageTool 4.1 from the link given here.

STEP 2: Download the latest version of PwnageTool Bundles from msft guy here and then extract it to your desktop.

STEP 3: Copy PwnageTool you have download to your desktop. Right click, and then click on “Show Package Contents”.

STEP 4: Now browse to Contents > Resources > FirmwareBundles.

STEP 5: Now copy the custom bundle iPad1,1_4.2.1_8C148.bundle in its location and close the folder.

STEP 6: Use Cydia binary from http://apt.telesphoreo.org/cydia/debs/cydia_1.0.3222-73_iphoneos-arm.deb, start “Terminal” program on your Mac and run the following commands:

mv Cydia_ Cydia.bak

bspatch Cydia.bak Cydia_ Cydia.patch

Then copy to /Applications/Cydia.app/Cydia_

and chmod +x+s /Applications/Cydia.app/Cydia_

STEP 7: Now start the patched version of PwnageTool, select iPad as your device and you will now notice that PwnageTool will automatically detect iOS 4.2.1 GM firmware.

STEP 8: Now, follow the from step 4 to step 7 posted here in our previous guide.

STEP 9: After creating your custom firmware successfully, you will have to restore your iPad to the firmware cooked by patched PwnageTool by clicking on the iPad icon on the left sidebar of iTunes then hold left “alt” button (“Shift” button on Windows) on the keyboard and then click on “Restore” then release the alt button, and select the custom firmware created by PwnageTool.

STEP 10: Once the installation is done, your iPad will reboot and you'll get a jailbroken iPad on iOS 4.2.1 with a working version of Cydia on it and here's a screenshot for that:

Cydia still crashes when trying to customize categories, but installing and updating packages seems to work OK. Also, the guy is currently cooking a bundle for iPod touch, we'll be back whenever the bundle is uploaded.

You read it right ! The company behind Skyfire has confirmed they are working on making their popular web browser available on the iPad soon.

This was confirmed on their Twitter account:

We are working on an iPad version of Skyfire. If your primary device is the iPad, please consider waiting - Follow us for our iPad news!

Skyfire web browser was released for iPhone couple of days back and was removed from the app store because it is SOLD OUT and it's now back and available for iPhone and iPod touch. I'm looking forward to get it on my iPad. Stay tuned as we'll inform you whenever it's available.

iPad iOS 4.2 Game Center Apps Being Approved

Great news for iPad users and App developers, Apple has started approving Game Center compatible iPad applications just ahead of iOS 4.2 release. Even some of the iOS 4.2 apps are available for download like Big Bad Sudoku Book (iTunes Link) which has now full support for iOS 4.2 and also ready for multitasking too.


iOS 4.2 update that will bring multitasking, Game Center to iPad is expected to be released on November 7th.

Jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod touch 4G / 3G on Mac [How to Guide]

We already told you that Geohot with the help of some hackers could write Limera1n's code to work on Mac OS X. In case you don't know how to use the most easiest tool to jailbreak your iOS device, here's full step by step how to guide to jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 4G, iPod touch 3G and iOS 3.2.2 on iPad.



NOTE: If you are using Ultrasn0w to unlock your carrier, then don't use the instructions below as the unlock for new basebands is not available yet. wait for PwnageTool to be released this weekend.

STEP 1: Download Limera1n for Mac OS X from here.

STEP 2: Connect your iPhone to your PC via USB then launch Limera1n and hit “make it ra1n”

STEP 3: You will have to get your device into DFU mode by following the steps on the screen shown by Limera1n.

• You iPhone will now be placed in recovery mode.

• Press both the power and the home buttons.

• When Limera1n asks you to, release the power button.

• Your phone will now be in DFU mode

STEP 4: You should see a message like this indicates that your devices has been jailbroken successfully.

STEP 6: Now start Limera1n app from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and install Cydia as shown in the screenshots below.

STEP 7: Now simply restart your device and enjoy the jailbreak!
