Stream Recorded Video via AirPlay Using Air Home Video !
A new Cydia tweak has been released today that allows your iOS device to stream recorded video from your photos or camera roll to your Apple TV! This tweak, called Air Home Video, is a standalone app that allows the user to stream any recorded video from the app.
Air Home Video can play any video in your Photos app, Camera Roll on iPhone and Saved Photos on iPad included. What’s great about Air Home Video is that you can then stream your videos to a new Apple TV 2G using AirPlay.
You can now shoot a video on your phone, and without syncing it to your computer or hooking up to wires you may play it to network connected Apple TV 2G.
You can trim down videos to only view a portion of it. You can also select Low or High Quality streams. Low will compress quicker, but will, of course be a lower quality of video than High.
Enjoy your home videos as soon as they have been shot. They are, after all, yours; play them how you want, and where you want.

Apple TV 4.1 Coming Out Today !! [video]
Along with the release of iOS 4.2 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, Apple will also push the much waited iOS 4.1 for Apple TV 2G, according to MacWorld.
VoiceOver not only reads the name of the menu item you’re on, but it does a good job of reading metadata, including episode descriptions of TV shows. Install Apps on Jailbroken Apple TV 2G [Guide]
The other day we told you about the first ever app jailbroken Apple TV 2G app which is called nitoTV. The app currently works as a weather widget and RSS reader. MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has posted on his Twitter account the links to full guides to install nitoTV on jailbroken Apple TV 2G. Check the guide after the jump.
STEP 2: Once jailbroken, open Terminal and SSH into your Apple TV2, the default password is "alpine"
STEP 3: Type "passwd" and enter a new password (if you haven't already)
STEP 4: Type: echo "deb http://apt.awkwardtv.org ./" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/awkwardtv.list
STEP 5: Type: apt-get update
STEP 6: Type: apt-get install com.nito.nitoTV
STEP 7: Type: killall Lowtide
That's it, now you can enjoy your first ever jailbroken app installed on your Apple TV 2G. Let's wait for more to come!

Limera1n Can Jailbreak the Apple TV ?
You know that the SHAtter exploit can jailbreak Apple TV and it was demoed in a video but with the launch of Limera1n yesterday, SHAtter exploit has been saved for 5th-generation device so users of Apple TV was complaining about that as they need a jailbreak for their new Apple TV.
AppleTV is technically supported, but theres no apps yetThe jailbreak can be done by putting your Apple TV using Limera1n jailbreak guide but what's the point? You can't install app without having OpenSHSH service on your device so some hackers should work on installing OpenSHSH and running apps on it, we'll let you know when the jailbreak is updated to install OpenSSH.

SHAtter and Jailbreak AppleTV 2G Done Successfully with PwnageTool [Update 1x]
Few moments ago, MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev-Team has sent a picture throw his twitter confirming that Apple TV 2G has successfully been SHAttered and jailbroken on iOS 4.1, as you know the SHAtter exploit has been discovered by Pod2g, also the same exploit already is being used in upcoming iPhone 4 , iPad and iPod touch 4G jailbreak (a.k.a Greenpois0n) on iOS 4.1.

We have to remind you again that if you are interested in the Apple TV jailbreak, so it's better to buy it early before Apple patches the discovered exploits.

Literally the only UI application on the ATV is Lowtide.app, but now the window is open for jailbroken apps of all varieties. (Just like the early iPhone days, the only apps you’ll see on the AppleTV will be jailbroken ones). SHAtter Decrypts AppleTV iOS 4.1 [Exclusive]
A few hours Chpwn tweeted about the new Apple TV firmware, which is indeed actually iOS based as we had hoped for. The firmware is even available to download from Apple's servers, before the product has even hit hands of anxious pre-order customers.
The main filesystem (“Mojave8M89.K66OS”) key for 018-8609-066.dmg is:

If you’re familiar with vfdecrypt, you can use that key to decrypt the image and mount it. If you do so, feel free to use the comments section to discuss what you discover there(And of course, thanks @pod2g!)
The Dev-Team just tweeted a small update to their recent demo of SHAtter, stating that

Download iOS 4.1 for Apple TV !
Apple TV is based on iOS but here's a quick heads up which confirms that Apple TV runs iOS. Apple has just posted iOS 4.1 for Apple TV on their servers, I know it's not useful for you because you don't need to restore to it as it comes with it! But this is just a proof.
It would be very interesting if the hackers could jailbreak it to add new features and install apps that would help you to make things you can't imagine. Download link posted below:
